Just like a compass, the Drag Race franchise consistently points north — and now Canada's Drag Race is making herstory again with Canada's Drag Race: All Stars. The six-episode season will feature queens from previous seasons of Canada's Drag Race all returning to compete once again for the title of Canada's Ultimate All-Star (and $100,000 prize).

This isn't the history-making part of the ruveal, though. All Stars spinoffs already exist in Spain, France, and the US. The gag of it all is — for the first time ever, a Drag Race series will have an all drag queen judging panel. The series will be hosted by Brooke Lynn Hytes, who heads up the judges' panel alongside two Season 1 alums: Priyanka (winner, Canada's Drag Race Season 1), and Jimbo (winner, RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 8).

Of course drag queens have always been part of Drag Race judging panels. Every series is hosted by a queen ... with the exception of Drag Race Down Under, which is now hosted by franchise legend Michelle Visage. And plenty of Ru girls have jumped from the Main Stage to being a fixture behind a judges' table: Brooke Lynn Hytes, Nicky Doll, Jiggly Caliente, Rita Baga, Isis Avis Loren, Kita Mean, and Spankie Jackzon to name a few. But no show has had a panel consisting of just drag queens.

This is the latest in a string of franchise firsts for Canada's Drag Race. Earlier this year, RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World Season 3 implemented the "Chippy Tea" twist that lets the week's top queen save one bottom queen from lip syncing for her life. This is a twist that was originally introduced in Canada's Drag Race Season 4 as the "Golden Beaver."

As for the queens we'll see on Canada's Drag Race: All Stars, we'll just have to wait for the official cast announcement. The series is expected to premiere on WOW Presents Plus later this year. You can read the full press release below.
