Snorlax on beach

Blokees // $38.99

Combining simple snap-together construction with a show-stopping design pulled straight from the long-running anime, Blokee’s all-new Snorlax model kit takes the Kanto Region’s sleepiest resident and transforms him into a pristine bit of plastic perfection capable of outshining even the priciest of rivals. While clever engineering allows for an impressive range of motion against this gentle giant’s profuse proportions, Snorlax is further buoyed by both an included effects piece and a tropical-themed display base that’s perfect for catching an afternoon nap. The end result is a prefabricated Pocket Monster that’s hefty, hungry, and hulking with horsepower – a must for aspiring trainers, and the perfect way to ring in the brand’s 30th anniversary!

Lio Convoy action figure

Takara Tomy // $49.99

Featuring a redesigned head sculpt that more closely resembles the original animation model, this imported anniversary automaton takes the most disappointing aspect of Hasbro’s Legacy release and gives it a much-needed overhaul. In addition to it’s realistic proportions, modern articulation, minimal kibble, and retooled claws, T-Spark Lio Convoy boasts a transformation that’s engaging without being overly complicated. At the same time, a tasteful spread of metallic paint helps further enhance the figure no matter which form you choose to display him in. Oh, and did I mention the lion’s mane spins? Yep, this version of Convoy is even capable of unleashing his signature Lion Typhoon move straight from the anime! No wonder he’s quickly become such a popular alternative to the far more expensive Masterpiece model.

Doc Savage action figure

Mezco Toyz // $115

One of the most recognizable pulp-era heroes, Doc Savage leaps off the printed page and straight into the world of premium plastic courtesy of Mezco Toyz and the One:12 Collective! Decked out in his signature safari shirt, jodhpurs, and boots, Clark Savage Jr. stands just over six inches tall and comes loaded with articulation. True to his globe-trotting legacy, the Man of Bronze arrives packed for adventure with interchangeable hands, night vision goggles, an infrared lantern, bowie knife, utility vest, a foldable grapple hook, and more. Mezco even includes a ripped shirt and pulp-inspired portrait for collectors looking to crank things up a notch by recreating those classic cover moments. He may not come cheap, but for adventure aficionados and comic buffs alike, this one is nothing short of essential!

Dinosaur action figure

Nanmu Studio // $119.99

While Nanmu’s albino Empress may be an unofficial interpretation of Jurassic World’s Indominus Rex, I’d dare say it outclasses anything we’ve received in an official capacity – and it’s not even close! This premier plastic predator captures Henry Wu’s hybrid hunter down to the smallest detail. From the cold, calculating eyes to the razor-sharp teeth and signature quills, everything feels both deliberate and refined. The textured skin adds lifelike realism, while 30 points of articulation allows for plenty of screen-worthy poses straight out of the box. Interchangeable hands are also included, giving collectors even more display flexibility. Yes, like the Doc Savage figure above, this one commands a slightly steeper sticker price, but at this scale, you’re simply not going to find a more striking take on Jurassic World’s apex predator.

Pelican pirate action figure

Lone Coconut // $29.99

A swashbuckling scavenger who fancies himself a gentleman of the skies, Captain Longbill is the feathered ringleader of the Plunderbeaks – a roving band of avian pirates who prefer stealing treasure to earning it. At roughly five inches tall, this broad-winged buccaneer packs over 25 points of movement (including an articulated beak, tongue, and toes) into a compact, poseable form that’s perfect for diverse displays. He comes loaded with accessories like a finely detailed rapier, a magnetic feathered bicorn hat, a ruffled shirt, and modular reversible wings that let you switch up his look on the fly. With his charismatic design, abundant paint applications, and characterful sculpting, it’s easy to see why, even more than six decades later, the bird is still the word among collectors and fans alike — a wind-riding freebooter with big personality and pride of place on any shelf. Yo ho!
