SPOILERS for The Traitors 3x07, obviously.
Hyper-fixation should be a stage of grief. Why else am I here, on this pop culture website, peppering everything I write with passing references to my own hellish inner life — be it a piece about a G.I. Joe movie that doesn't exist, a Daredevil: Born Again teaser, or a Hallmark holiday movie about football? I mean, maybe if my dad had been given the option to drop dead in the middle of a period of economic growth and positive social change, the depression stew that I find myself simmering in wouldn't be as thick and chunky as it is.
Whatever — I write all of this to say that I am finding it very hard to feel anything these days, and that's a problem when you have my job. But you know what made me feel something, albeit for a fleeting moment? Seeing Boston Rob get banished on The Traitors.

I have not let loose an involuntary fist pump of that force in quite some time. That's how I should have felt when I saw Galactus looming over New York City in the Fantastic Four: First Steps teaser. The release of tension at seeing both Carolyn Wiger and Danielle Reyes finally do the damn deed and both vote for Rob's banishment? That's how I should have felt on Christmas morning. The sudden comfort of knowing that, while tough times still lie ahead, for right now, the most smug person in the game has just been given the boot? Would've been nice to feel that on Election night.
The varied jubilant expressions from the Faithful (and two Traitors) offer a glimpse into how I felt for a hot, hot sec.

Also, respect to Chrishell for just riding so hard to get Tom Sandoval banished.
Boston Rob's banishment was something finally going right in a year when everything is going wrong. Mind you, this wasn't an example of something going according to plan, because no one in The Traitors Season 3 has been capable of forming a plan, let alone committing to and executing it (except for Boston Rob, hilariously).
I expected this to actually happen two weeks ago, when Boston Rob forever got on my bad side when he made the ridiculously petty and short-sighted turn against Bob the Drag Queen. If you pull Bob the Drag Queen from my TV screen, I will hold a grudge — especially if it's rooted in a nearly baseless claim. Bob says that one of the three new players must be a traitor, and instead of Boston Rob taking that and running with sniping out Derrick or Wes — Wes, the most instantly dislikable Real World alum who isn't currently holding a position in government — he turned on Bob the Drag Queen.
From there, it was flail after fail as Danielle and Carolyn continued to not do the obvious thing and team up against Boston Rob for turning on their own. Danielle turned on Carolyn, so Carolyn turned on Danielle — and this mayhem led to Tom f'ing Sandoval, up until now the most useless player of the season, leading the charge against Boston Rob. Sure.

However we got to this moment, we got to this moment. The "godfather" has been banished as have all of his track jackets and baseball caps. And for one small moment, all was right in the world.
