It's nearly Heistgiving Thanksgiving (in America), and that means one thing (in America): The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, a grotesque yet infinitely entertaining carnival of American culture dragging itself 40+ blocks from New York's Upper West Side to Herald Square.
(American Thanksgiving also involves overeating, fighting with relatives about politics, and white people coming to terms with the genocide and oppression of Native peoples. There's turkey, there's pie, and there's it's complicated.)
But parades are fun, so let's watch this one together!
Starting a few minutes before 8:30 a.m. Eastern, head on over to Bluesky and keep up to date with posts tagged #Heistgiving to get reactions, takes, jokes, and jabs from members of the Pop Heist crew. Join the party and add #Heistgiving to your posts, too!
The parade is airing live on NBC, so change the channel on your TV (lol remember channels?), kick back, have a cup of cocoa, and prepare to post relentlessly. We'll see you there!
If you haven't already, consider supporting worker-owned media by subscribing to Pop Heist. We are ad-free and operating outside the algorithm, so all dollars go directly to paying the staff members and writers who make articles like this one possible.
