Trouble in Paradise: Ranking the ‘Love Island USA’ Couples, Week 3

Summer's here and you know what that means: it's Love Island USA season! That means spending six nights a week glued to a screen, watching a dozen sexy singles look for love in a cartoonishly colorful villa. There will be lots of hook-ups, lots of spicy games, and lots of incredibly impractical bathing suits. Every week, Nicole Weaver of Black Bi Reality will break down what's going down in the Villa by ranking the couples from compatible to scary.

The week began with America's vote pairing Jeremiah Brown with Iris Kendall. Ace Greene laughed, Huda Mustafa cried, and everyone had to vote who to dump from the Villa. Charlie Georgiou left despite his close connection with Hannah Fields. Jeremiah took America's vote as a sign and was ready to move on from Huda. The playing field was open for multiple Islanders and it looked like anything could happen.

June 22's episode revealed America's votes for their favorite men and women. The bottom three were vulnerable and once again the Islanders voted to dump one man and one woman. The men accused Jeremiah of sticking to his old ways by focusing on one woman, Andreina Santos. Andreina had all the men mesmerized with her good looks and accent. Her steamy kiss with Jeremiah in front of the other Islanders might've made him a target and he was sent home. Hannah bounced back from Charlie the next day and continued her connection with Pepe Garcia. The women dumped her, which was another blow to a strong connection.

The Islanders remaining will be separated for Casa Amor. Each couple will be tested to see if their head will turn while their partner is away. Which unstable couples will return with someone new? I ranked every couple from least to most unstable.

1. Ace & Chelley

Ace finally coupled up with Chelley Bissainthe after weeks of flirting and planning dates. Chelley also seemingly left her connection with Austin Shepard in the past. Not surprising since they barely could muster a friendship for the cameras. Ace and Chelley are not closed off and Ace was thrilled to see Andreina. But he didn't make any moves on the bombshell, which could foreshadow how he'll move in Casa Amor.

Chelley might entertain conversations with other men while she's away. However, she has never been the one to chase a man. The Casa men will have to put all their effort into turning her head. Even if they plan hibachi and dancing dates, they don't have the history these Islanders share. Ace and Chelley are the most stable going into next week.

2. Cierra & Nic

Cierra Ortega and Nicolas (Nic) Vansteenberghe have intense physical chemistry and can talk about evolution together. However, Nic's roaming eye will always get him into trouble. The couple had quick sex, which Nic felt like he had to explain to Cierra. Of course, she was understanding but her patience is wearing out. Nic told her that he's open and flirted with Andreina.

Cierra revealed she has avoided asking Nic about his conversations with bombshells. She's transparent about being open to new men, and that her connection with Nic is strong. We've seen Nic joke about spending New Year's Eve with Adreina in Brazil. This looks bad since we haven't seen him talk about life outside the Villa with Cierra. There is a good possibility that Nic and Cierra will bring someone back to the Villa after being separated. However, they have flirted with other people and returned to each other. It might not break them, but there could be trouble in paradise.

3. Olandria & Taylor

America coupled Olandria Carthen up with Jalen Brown last Sunday. The truck driver was refreshing since he wasn't scared to kiss Olandria and pursue her. However, Olandria revealed that she likes her "slow burn" with Taylor Williams. The problem is she doesn't know Taylor's slow pursuit could be a bad sign.

The one thing Taylor has going for him is Ace. He put a lot of pressure on the rodeo competitor to show interest in Olandria to win her back. It worked and the men voted to keep Huda over Taylor's competition. Olandria and Taylor are still getting to know each other by asking about their routines outside the Villa. It's hard to believe they have a true friendship because of this. The one thing they have in common is giving sensible advice to Huda and Jeremiah. This couple is one of the more stable because it seems like they're settled with what they have, but what they have isn't romantic.

4. Iris & TJ

Iris Kendall started the week in an awkward situation, but handled it well. She told Jeremiah they were better off as friends after she kissed incoming bombshell TJ Palma. This connection is the newest and the weakest. It would be very surprising if each of them doesn't bring someone back from Casa. However, that might not be the end of them. They could be understanding and reunite after they're split, unlike our most unstable couple.

5. Austin & Amaya

Poor Amaya Elizabeth can't catch a break! She was stuck with Ace after he quickly distanced himself from her. The rest of the week showed him joking about being unhappy in his couple and telling the other men that Amaya was too clingy. She moved on to Austin who was out of options. Now he's complaining that Amaya is moving too fast.

Thankfully, Amaya isn't delusional and can tell Austin isn't into her. This means she can be open to exploring in Casa without any guilt. There is almost no way Austin and Amaya won't return with someone new on their arm, and hopefully it will be a genuine connection.

The singles going into Casa Amor are Pepe and Huda. Pepe will be in shock since his connection with Hannah was getting better with every day. Huda pulled Pepe and TJ for conversations without any luck. She'll have to try to find someone new in Casa Amor. But will her reputation and desire for a man to be immediately obsessed over her end in disaster? We'll have to wait and see.
